Choices.

We all have choices. Some feel paralyzing and others easy. My choice at this time is whether or not to self publish.

One camp would tell you that if you self publish you have all the control over your work and reap 100% of the profit. No pesky agent to slide a percentage, no giant publishing house that really doesn't care if you live or die taking the majority of the money, yada yada, etc.

The other camp would say that though getting noticed is grueling, like winning the lotto, that traditional publishing is best because they have the power to get word about your book out to the masses.

Not every book published by an author is going to be the next Fifty Shades of Grey and conversely if you get picked up by an agent and a major house you still might never take off.

I think the best you can do is try. Try until you have a headache but never forget that you love to write. Eventually I will make a choice.
